Principal's News

Reading to your child everyday has been proven to be the biggest indicator of later school success. There are 5 main reasons why reading to kids causes them to be more successful.

  • Builds their self-esteem
  • Improves their concentration
  • Builds critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Develops stronger memory skills
  • Develops a larger vocabulary

Parents,

please make a pledge with me this month that you will take at least 10 minutes everyday to read to your child. It will make a huge impact!!

Some great books to read with your child:

Reading Rockets is a great website to get Reading Ideas to try at home. Check it out! www.readingrockets.org

March is Reading Month!!

We will be reading all month long and earning fun prizes! Check out the calendar below for what is happening each day this month. Don't forget to read, read and read some more!

COMFY COZY DAY

Comfy Cozy Day is Wednesday, March 2nd!

Ice Cream Friday's @ CES

BRRR! It's Cold Outside

Please make sure your child has snow gear every day. Your child is welcome to leave their boots and snowpants in their locker for the week so they do not have to bring them home each night. Make sure they have shoes for the classroom and possibly some extra socks. It is also helpful to label all their gear so if something goes missing we know who it belongs to!

  • Snow coat
  • Gloves/mittens and a hat
  • Snow pants
  • Scarf
  • Snow Boots

Thank you to our Little Eagles Counselor, Mrs. Phelps!

We celebrated National School Counselor's Week in February. We are so grateful for all that Mrs. Phelps does for our students and staff!

Counselor Corner

Donation Needs:

The office has a stock of items for times when students have accidents and need a change of clothes. We are currently in need of girls leggings or boys athletic/tie pants for sizes 6,7,8. We appreciate all donations!

Career Day:

Please reach out if you are still interested in volunteering for our virtual career day! If you have sent in a volunteer form already, I will be in touch soon!

Classroom Lessons

I got to visit every classroom Preschool through 2nd in February to share with students many coping skills for when we feel BIG feelings. We read a story, practiced skills and played BINGO with the strategies! I loved getting to hear from every student which strategy they were going to use in the future. Ask your student which were their favorite strategies practiced!

Please reach out to me with any questions or additional support needs at ashley.phelps@myeagles.org or at 517-769-8557.
