The character trait this week is Gratitude!
Gratitude is the quality of feeling and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world, and that we have received that goodness. People with the strength of gratitude have a readiness to show appreciation for
kindness and also to return kindness. A leading expert, Robert Emmons, calls gratitude a “relationship-strengthening emotion because it requires us to see how we’ve been supported and affirmed by other people.”
This is the gratitude character card.
Students of the Month
Adyson is a 7th grade student at JW Leary who was nominated because she demonstrated teamwork, open-mindedness, integrity by taking what seemed like a bad situation and turning it into an opportunity for growth. She used open-mindedness and communication, the willingness to view a situation from a different perspective...and ended up helping to solve a problem. Adyson and the "B Team" came up with not only a plan/solution that might just prove to be helpful (not only for herself but for fellow classmates for years to come) Adyson used her creativity to create a tool/aid that can be used during the implementation process of the plan. Way to turn a trial into a triumph Adyson!!!

Things happening in classes.
The white Styrofoam bin contains our red wiggler worms (donated by Kristin Colarusso Martin- thank you!!), each student got 2 worms as well as some other soil microbes to help do the decomposing in their bottles.
Many named their worms and we can see them doing their work through the clear bottles :D
