Family Newsletter

Big picture

Hi everybody-

We have week two under our belts and it seems that things are starting to fall into place. It was so nice to see our kids sharing all about me information, puppet shows, and some great circles with fun getting to know you activities. I've been so proud of the way our staff has been able to adapt their instruction and relationship building to the online format. The students have been happy to engage in learning and connect with school once again.

Our school year will really start moving along within the next week or two and we would like to start incorporating some fun activities that help our kids to connect and unwind. This week, we'd like to invite kids to do a sidewalk splash at Robinson. We will have boxes of sidewalk chalk along each of the sidewalks around and on our campus. Please stop by to make a picture or write a message. Make sure that you have your mask on and are socially distanced from others who may also be creating a design. Our new students and staff also have rocks that they are painting and are putting by our marquee, and we'd love for our other Roadrunners to do this as well. Please feel free to email me pictures of your rock or sidewalk artwork to post on our FB page. We look forward to seeing what great things you create!

Thanks for all you are doing to support your children and our teachers while learning online. We appreciate all that you are doing to help ensure that this is a positive experience for our kids and we are grateful for the partnership in learning.

Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or if we can provide your family any support.

Take Care-

Staff Members Favorite Things

Every year, staff members fill out what their favorite things are. I've had some parents who were wanting to get their teacher a token of appreciation and so I am sharing our staff members' favorite things. The sheet is in alpha order and lists what each staff member likes. If you'd like to get something and leave it at the school, we can let the staff member know that they have something at the building for pickup. Thank you!

Opt out of One-One Zoom Calls

We believe that one-on-one and small group instruction is key to differentiation and the personalized support of students. This work is difficult to replicate in an online learning environment. The use of Zoom or other video conferencing tools can help facilitate this type of important interaction in the virtual environment. However, it is important for staff and students to be familiar with the relevant policies and expectations to ensure these interactions are positive, productive, and safe for all involved. Please review THIS DOCUMENT for guidelines about one-on-one conferences. If you do not want your child to participate in one-one zoom calls, please email me at please include the child's name and teacher in the email.
