Conscious Discipline
"Evidence-Based, Research-Backed Social and Emotional Learning
Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive emotional intelligence and classroom management system that integrates all domains of learning (social, emotional, physical, cultural and cognitive) into one seamless curriculum. It evolves from constantly asking, “Is there a better way,” and seeking the most current information provided by varied disciplines from neuroscience to mindfulness research to developmental psychology and beyond. The following papers, articles, research and texts are among the many materials that provide support for the concepts and framework of Conscious Discipline." Research Behind Conscious Discipline
"Conscious Discipline Excels in Harvard Analysis of Top 25 SEL Programs
In a study published by the Harvard Graduate School of Education and funded by The Wallace Foundation, Conscious Discipline was found to be one of only three SEL programs that focuses 75% or more of its content on Emotion/Behavior Regulation and Emotion Knowledge/Expression, and one of only 13 programs that focuses 50% or more its content on Interpersonal Skills. Conscious Discipline received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories. The study’s authors say, “Conscious Discipline provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.” (Taken from https://consciousdiscipline.com/methodology/research/)
Final Round of the March Madness Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament!!!!!!!!
Ms. S stood toe to toe with Ms. Drilling, faces stoic and determined. Mrs. S came out to an early lead, 2-nothing. When suddenly, Mrs. Drilling sprung back from behind with 2 wins, tying up the score.
In the final round, with the crowd roaring with excitement, "Rock Paper Scissors, SHOOT!" Ms. Drilling played a fierce scissor only to be crushed by Ms. S' steadfast rock. Ms. S reigned triumphant! Ever the honorable sportsman, Ms. Drilling embraced the victor before nursing the sting of defeat.
All competitors are thanked for their participation and encouraged to train hard to stay in top Rock Paper Scissors shape. The excitement continues next year!

Cadott Youth Wrestling Results
Tessa York finished in 3rd place. After losing her second round match, to the eventual state champ, she was able to go 4-0 throughout the remainder of the tournament and pinned all of her opponents.
Iszybelle Sonnentag went undefeated on the day and finished a State Champ! She is our only state champ from grades 2-6.
Gavin Tegels wrestled tough and finished in 5th place going 3-2 on the day.
Brayden Sonnentag finished as the State Champ in arguably the toughest bracket of the tournament (5 wrestlers who were state champ or a 2nd place finisher in previous years).
Charlie Dusick made his first appearance at state in his first year wrestling and gave it his all. He was not able to secure a spot on the podium, but we're all excited to see him continue to progress and represent Cadott as a model student/athlete.
Logan Harel battled and was able to win a match, but did not make it on the podium. We'll be watching him next season in his first year of high school wrestling.
Please make sure to congratulate our student athletes when you have a chance!
2018-19 CLASS PLACEMENTS
Teaching staff will soon be working together to determine class placements for the 2018-19 school year. Many factors are considered when placing students in classrooms. We will look for the best possible combinations to support success for each and every student.
As in past years, we discourage parents from making requests for a specific teacher for their child, however, there may be circumstances that we are not aware of that may impact your child's placement. If there are special circumstances that we need to know about please communicate these in writing to Mrs. Goettl by Friday April 13th.Thank you
