In the dirty 30's York county farm families didn't have heat light or indoor bathrooms like people who live in towns. People who grew up during the great depression said ‘’no one had money’’. Neighbors helped each other threw hard times,sickness and accidents
Farmers grow angry and desperate
Farmers struggled with low prices all through the 1920's but after 1929 things began to be harder for city workers as well. As the stock market crashed ,many businesses started to close or lay off workers.Many families could not pay their rent. Some young men left home by jumping on railroad carts to find work.
