Did you know that Mars Curiosity Rover has an Instagram account? Check it out for some stunning pictures! Want more Earth bound pics? Try the US Geological Survey (USGS) or the US Department of the Interior.
I am also going to send you to Cory Richards, a National Geographic Photographer. How can you go wrong? Amazing images from him as well!
Tip of the Week- Google Classroom for BEGINNERS
Have you been hearing about Google Classroom but think it is over your head? The Google Gooru has 19 classroom flash cards that can get you started SUPER fast with Classroom. Each one has a picture and one step in the process. You can print them and keep them handy if you need to! Go here to find the cards, and just enter your email address for access.
Tool of the Week- No Red Ink
NoRedInk is good (and free) supplemental grammar practice tool that asks students where their interests lie, and then uses them in traditional grammar drills. Students and teachers can log in using their Google accounts, so there is no need to create something new. Teachers can create assessments or practice based on skill needs. This would be a great piece to use for targeted instruction! Check it out at www.noredink.com.
ISTE Standard of the Week
Today we continue in the second main section of the ISTE Standards for teachers, titled "Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments". It states that teachers should "design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the standards." Part C of this standard says to "Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources."
