Argyle ISD Voter Approve All Three Bond Propositions

Argyle Independent School District voters approved a $267,885,000 bond as all three propositions passed in the Saturday, May 7 Bond Election.

The bond proposal was developed by the community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee, comprised of 24 members who met over four months studying the district’s rapid growth figures, facilities and finances.

The bond election included a record voter turnout of more than 4,100.

  • Proposition A (new schools/land/safety & security updates/buses/technology infrastructure & other facility improvements) passed with 69.5%

  • Proposition B (new stadium at Argyle High School) passed with 57.5%

  • Proposition C (new Indoor Activity Center at Argyle High School) passed with 55.7%

School Board Election Update

In the Argyle ISD School Board Election, Matthew Slaton won the race in Place 6 and Joshua Westrom won in Place 7. The unofficial election results will be canvassed at the Monday, May 16 regular School Board meeting.

Matthew Slaton - 57.54% (2,175 votes)
Andrew Hering - 42.46% (1,605)


Joshua Westrom - 49.91% (1,893)
Nick Reynolds - 44.82% (1,700)
Natalie Long (withdrew from race) - 5.27% (200)

Argyle ISD Celebrates School Nurse Day 2022

This week, Argyle ISD honored its staff on School Nurse Day. This is a special day each year that schools recognize the extraordinary work done by school nurses and their assistants during the school year. Argyle ISD is very grateful for its amazing school nurses who have seen their jobs change drastically over the past three years and they have risen to the occasion.

We thank them for taking care of our Eagles students and staff and helping keep them safe and healthy.

AHS UIL Academics Team 1st Place at State!

So far, so great for the Argyle High School UIL Academics team! The team is currently in first place at the UIL Class 4A State Meet with 270 points. Lindale is second with 105.5 points. The only competition remaining is State Speech and those results will be known May 24-25. What a fantastic job again by our Eagles competing in the state meet! Let's Dance! AIS Kicks Off STAAR Week with Pep Rally

How about getting ready for STAAR testing this week with a dance party pep rally?! Argyle Intermediate 5th graders & teachers brought the excitement Monday morning! It ended with two students winning new bikes for their outstanding essays on doing their best & never giving up!

The essay winners were Korben Deley & Jigeesha Bhukya!

School Board Regular Meeting Monday, May 16

The Argyle ISD School Board will hold a regular meeting on Monday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and are held at 800 Eagle Drive in the AISD Board Room. Time is allotted for public comment.

Regular and Special meetings are live-streamed and available on the Argyle ISD YouTube channel. Argyle ISD also posts live updates from the meetings on the district's Twitter account.

Message from School Nurses: Medication Pickup

Eagle parents and guardians must pick up all medication from the nursing office by the last day of school on Friday, May 20. If your child will be attending summer school, you must contact the campus nurse to make medication arrangements.

Texas School Health Guidelines: The school/school nurse will destroy all medication remaining in the school the day after the last day of classes, unless the child will be attending summer school.

Argyle ISD Administration Building Moving

The Argyle ISD Administration Building is in the process of moving to its new location this week. The new offices will be located at 6701 Canyon Falls Drive, next to Argyle High School. Staff will be moving this week and the former offices at 800 Eagle Drive will have limited access.

CLASS OF 2022: Mark Your Calendars

The Class of 2022 graduation is coming soon! Argyle ISD is so proud of these seniors who are almost to the finish line. Graduation is moving back to the UNT Coliseum and will be held Thursday, May 19 at 6 p.m. Below is a list of other key dates and events for seniors:

  • Thursday, May 12 - Last day of regular classes, Chromebook turn-in through English classes
  • Friday, May 13 - Senior final exams in Lecture Hall
  • Sunday, May 15 - Baccalaureate in AHS Auditorium
  • Monday, May 16 - Final Exams in Lecture Hall
  • Tuesday, May 17 - Final Exams in Lecture Hall
  • Wednesday, May 18 - Graduation Practice at AHS at 9:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, May 18 - Senior Slide Show/Rose ceremony/Senior parade, AMS at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 19 - Senior Breakfast AHS Cafeteria at 9 a.m.
  • Thursday, May 19 - Graduation at UNT Coliseum at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 19 - Project Graduation at AMS 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Argyle ISD kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year is currently open. Registration is online-only and requires proof of residency within the school district's boundaries.

STATE CHAMPS! Eagles Win Back-to-Back 4A Titles

The Argyle Eagle golf team did it again! The Eagles won the Class 4A state tournament this week at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. The Eagles, coached by Cody Vanderford, earned their 5th state championship in school history.

Eagle golfer Gaven Lane won the state individual title with rounds of 70 and 66 to lead the entire field. The rest of the team included: Cooper Jensen, Ethan Payne, Nathan Rosser & Zane Griggs!

The Argyle Eagles and Lady Eagles are well represented at this year's UIL Class 4A State Track & Field Meet in Austin. The team had a sendoff at Argyle High School on Wednesday. Click HERE to watch.

Eagle Football Player Honored by WFAA

What a great recognition for Argyle Eagles senior defensive back Will Ramsey. He was honored by WFAA Ch. 8 as the Scholar Athlete of the Week. Click HERE to watch the video. Will is headed to the Colorado School of Mines in the fall to play football.

LADY EAGLE SOFTBALL: Region I Quarterfinals vs. Springtown

The Argyle Lady Eagle softball team will play a one-game playoff in the Class 4A Region I Quarterfinals on Friday vs. Springtown. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Lady Eagles are coming off a 13-0 area playoff victory against Lampasas. Follow the live audio broadcast - click HERE.
