Dear Families,

It has been another fabulous week of learning at Lent! We have enjoyed getting to better know our scholars in the classrooms, the outdoor "cafe" and out on the playground, and we love getting hear our students' stories, celebrate their achievements and encourage their growth across the campus.

At Lent, we are proud of the arts and enrichment offerings (Specials) we have been able to put together for our students. This year, our students have Art, Dance, Library, Music once per week and PE twice per week. Having a variety of learning experiences in their home classrooms and at Specials gives students opportunities to explore and discover their, strength, talents, and interests.

In this newsletter, you will find information about Picture Day, Back to School Night and our first Lockdown Drill, which is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:25 PM. In addition, please see the message from our Librarian, Ann Hanson, about bringing back books to our library!

Finally, please check your students' backpacks for an important packet regarding COVID-19 Screening Testing. If you do not receive the packet and would like to know more information, please contact the Office.

Sincerely,

Principal Berg and Assistant Principal Wicker

School Safety: September Practice Lockdown drill

Being out of in-person learning for over a year, students may have forgotten the practices drill we have in order to ensure we are safely and efficiently responding to school emergencies.

Coming up next week is our first practice lockdown drill! The drill is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28th at 2:25 PM.

Here is an article from RedTricycle on how to talk to your kiddo(s) about practice lockdown drills in a way to ease them back into these types of practices drills.

Students & Families!

It’s time to Bring Back the Books to your School Library!

Do you have library and textbooks materials at home from last year and before?

We're happy you've been reading and hope you've enjoyed these titles that you have borrowed from our library. We really want to share these stories with others. Please return the books as soon as you can so others can enjoy them as much as you have.

Please check your shelves, under the bed, behind the couch, everywhere! for books to return to the library. Contact our librarian, Ms. Hanson, at ahanson1@pps.net if you have any questions. Thanks for helping to keep our library and textbook materials available for all to use and enjoy!
