Howdy Cougars!
We are officially in Fun Run mode! Kids and teachers are talking about the big event and the pledges are starting to come in. Our goal is for every student on campus to register online and create a pledge profile. Once this happens, the internet and social media take care of the rest. Let all your FaceBook, Instagram, MySpace (somewhere in the distance a child groaned) and work friends know about this healthy fundraiser and ask them to help our school invest in new technology and enrichment opportunities for students.
Simply visit www.thegetmovincrew.com to set up your student’s profile. For up-to-date details on the Fun Run information go to https://www.smore.com/rdhjv.
Fill the bag: Our good friends at HEB has generously donated over 1,200 bag to serve as “swag bags” after the Zombie Run on the 18th. Now, all we have to do is fill them. If you, or the business you work for, has any chotskies, coupons, or marketing collateral you would like to donate, please bring them by. We want this run to mimic a 5k, so we want these bags to worth running around 30 minutes for. Snacks, lanyards, erasers, pencils...all items are welcome.
Parent Learning Walk: This Wednesday, November 9th, please join me on a parent learning walk. We will meet in the cafeteria at 8:30 then pop into classrooms to see all that is happening. Expect to see rigorous, engaging activities and students working cooperatively in groups. We’ll have to be done by 9:30 since we have a 9:40 fire drill scheduled.
Twitter Feed: If you’re curious as to what your kids are creating or learning during the day, be sure to follow me on Twitter @smallprincipal I try to update it daily with what is going on a school and share pictures from the various events I am lucky enough to attend.

Helping hand!
Greetings Small Cougars,
As you may have heard, one of our families lost their home to a fire earlier this week. Many of you have approached me in inquiring about how you can help. A family friend has set up a gofundme account https://www.gofundme.com/daughtry-family-fire-recovery-fund in efforts to help get them back on their feet. In addition, the family has shared a list of items that they would much appreciate, should you chose to help. If you have any questions, please let me know.
