Grades 3-5 GA Milestones Testing
Parent Communication-Updated!
April 16, 2021
Students attending school face-to-face in grades 3rd-5th will take the Georgia Milestones assessment beginning Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Virtual students are not required to attend school to take the Georgia Milestones assessment. However, if you would like your child to take the Georgia Milestones assessment please notify your teacher.
For virtual students returning to take the Milestones, please have your child report to school at 7:30 a.m. each testing day. Students will remain at school for the duration of the school day. If you choose to pick your child up after testing, please notify your child's teacher via class Dojo. Virtual students not remaining at school must be picked up by 12:00 p.m. daily on testing days.
For students in grades 3-5 returning Thursday, April 29th, parents should be aware students are still GA Milestones testing. What does that mean? Virtual students returning April 29th will take the GA Milestones because the window is still open until May 7th and all F2F students are testing unless of an opt-out. Additionally, students will make-up all "missed" sections-ELA, Math, Science (5th only) on May 3rd and May 7th.
If returning April 29th and parents do not want their child to take the assessment upon their return, please email Ms. Camille Jones, testing coordinator at camille_l_jones@dekalbschoolsga.org by Friday, April 23rd of your desire for your child not to take the Milestones assessment.
During testing, virtual students will have asynchronous activities (own their own) between 8:00am-12:00 on testing days. (see testing calendar below)
The letters below detail the Georgia Milestones test schedule and state assessment updates.
Camille Jones, Testing Coordinator
