Congratulations to our Class of 2022!
Message From The Principal
Graduation and Thanksgiving Mass
Our Graduation and Thanksgiving Mass yesterday was a wonderful celebration of a very busy year together, as we celebrated the achievements, and gave thanks for the many blessings received by all of us. Our Catholic faith is at the heart of our school and so it is fitting that our final celebration together was one centred on the Eucharist and our community of faith. As always, our students were reverent participants in the Mass and are a credit to their teachers and parents. Also, many thanks to the parents, grandparents and friends, who were able to make the time to enjoy this celebration with us. Congratulations to our student readers, Miss Robertson and Choir for the music, Mrs Pollard and students for the Liturgical Dance, Mr Kirry and Mrs Pollard for coordinating and leading the Mass and also thank you to Father Stephen and Acolyte Mike Featherstone for celebrating Mass with us all.
Congratulations to Our Graduating Year Six Students. We wish them well, as they continue their journey to secondary education, and we thank them for the gift of their presence and contributions to St Luke’s School during their time here. Thank you also to all the members of the St Luke’s teaching team for their support and contribution to all of our students during 2022 – their constant commitment to our students is truly a gift to this community.

Uniform Update
It was wonderful to officially unveil our new school uniform at this year's ACM Sundowner. Thank you to the students who volunteered their time to 'model' these new uniforms for the community. We have seen quite a few students wearing the new uniform and they look amazing!
A big thank you must go to Anne-Marie Yancazos, owner of Tudor School Uniforms, who has worked tirelessly over the last 12-24 months. She collaborated with our staff, parents and students in gaining feedback and with that, she designed a uniform that met the needs of all members of the St Luke's community. Thank you, Ann-Marie, for all your patience and hard work.
As previously mentioned, we will have a 2 year transition period where the old uniform will be accepted. Please be mindful if you are purchasing the new uniform, to not mix pieces of old and new. If you are in the new uniform, please wear the new shorts with the new shirt. Thank you for your assistance with this.
We will have full implementation of the new uniform in 2025. This means that all our current students in Year 4 upwards will not need to change their uniform over if they do not wish to. We hope this will give our families enough time to transition to the new uniform without a great expense to each family.
For students entering Year 6 in 2023:
As you will be wearing a leavers shirt, we have tried to simplify what days you will wear what uniform. So it will be as follows:
- 2 days formal uniform
- 2 days leavers shirts
- 1 day sport coloured faction shirt or new sport shirt (optional)
There will be no days of the 'light blue' sport shirt.
If any parents are keen to start buying for next year, the following items are ready in store now:
- Kindy and Pre-Kindy Tees
- Skorts
- Shorts
- School Faction Polos
- White and Navy Socks
- Girls Navy Pleated skirt
- Reversible Faction Bucket Hats
- School bags
- Woollen Jumpers
They are awaiting the arrival of the following items in January:
- Tracksuits
- Shirts
- Blouses
- Boys Formal Shorts
All remaining items from 2022 in the old style uniform are still available to purchase online at the reduced prices and will remain so until the end of our transition period.

This year the students ran 2235km, which is about the distance from Perth to Coral Bay and return. Since 2016, the students have run 7588km. If you were to drive that distance you could drive from Perth via all the capital cities and end up a the most northern point of Australia – Cape York!
The most km’s run this year was by the year 3’s who clocked up 530km, followed by the year 6’s with 433km and the year 5’s with 395km.
The class that has run the most over the past 7 years are the current year 6’s with 1245km.
Thank You!
And just like that, 2022 has come to an end and what an exciting, busy year it has been in Sport!
Some of the highlights of the year have been the Cross Country Carnival, the first Kindergarten Cross Country and Athletics Carnival, the Faction Athletics Carnival, HIIT mornings, National Health and Physical Education Day, Year Six Lightning Carnivals, and not to mention the Faction Swimming Carnival, which I think will be memorable for all those who attended and braved the rain and wind in late Spring!
Congratulations to Laurence Faction who took out the winning trophy for the Faction Swimming Carnival and it was a fantastic effort by all the students who showed resilience during the day despite the cold and rainy weather.
Running club has finished up for the year and will recommence Friday the 10th, Week Two, Term One. Well done to all the students and parents who came down on Friday mornings to start their day with fresh air and exercise. The milestone badges and medals were given out to students during last Friday’s assembly and the certificates in class. A special mention to Levi Francis who had completed a total of 230km throughout his time at St Luke’s. An amazing effort on his behalf! Also, a thank you to Nicki Francis, who after six years overseeing running club is ‘hanging up’ the running shoes. Nicki introduced Running Club to St. Luke’s in what started with three families, has now grown into hundreds which is fantastic to see and brings the St. Luke’s community together.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and volunteers that have helped during the year at all the sporting events, whether that was with timing, handing out ribbons, coaching or supplying food to the competitors, you are amazing, and these events wouldn’t run smoothly without your constant support and help.
Have a safe, restful, and joyous Christmas and New Year.
Looking forward to what 2023 brings in Sport at St Luke’s.
Kind regards,
Emily Rasmussen
