Tuesday Faculty Meeting Adjustments - Important
CCS High Schools - FYI
From Lynn Rhymer: We will be adding 30 minutes to high school exam days (8 of them) and 3 minutes to the high school day (7:15am-2:18pm.) for the remainder of the school year to ensure we have days to forgive in January and February. This will begin January 7, 2019.So far, we have used 2 forgive days, 3 swap days and delayed 3 different times. We currently have 3 days to swap before we would need to use Spring Break days. (January 22, March 29 and a capped day March 12) If the inclement weather occurs after January 22, we will lose that day and only have 2 days for swap. Elementary and Middle have enough hours to forgive 5 more days if needed. This adjustment will ensure high schools have the same option. It is necessary to start this now to have enough time to represent the days. If it becomes evident that we will not need these days we will return to the regular school day schedule and final exam times in June.

MTSS Reminders
Education should be a guarantee at CMS! Every student, everyday should be learning!
As we approach Benchmarks & the end of the 2nd Quarter, it is a good time to begin thinking about any individual students that you have academic or behavioral concerns about. If you have academic or behavioral concerns about a student ensure that you have documented any supports or interventions that you have provided for that student to address the concerns. If you are in need of some strategies, check out the items linked below in the referral forms. If you do not currently have any supports in place, then choose one or two interventions to use with the student for a minimum of 4 weeks.
***If you already have supports in place for the student & they are still struggling, then email the students assigned school counselor and Kelley Carpenter to be added to the MTSS Leadership team agenda!
(include Tier 1 Referral for Behavior or Reading or Math or Academics in the email)
As a reminder, the MTSS Handbook for CMS can be foundhere.
