6th Grade Camp Details
We are just a few days away from a great week at 6th Grade Camp! See below for some last minute pieces of information that you will need.

Monday, March 2nd – Drop Off: Expect heavy traffic this coming Monday when you arrive at BMMS. Please allow sufficient time to arrive at school between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Please do not double park! Students will drop off their luggage/camp gear in the MPR beginning at 7:45 a.m. Luggage can be dropped off at the MPR beginning at 7:45 a.m. Busses will load for camp and depart at approximately 9:30 a.m. Students will go to their 1st period class.
Parents are not allowed to go to their child’s first period class.
Lastly, only those 6th grade students who have completed all the necessary paperwork and camp payments will be allowed to leave on the camp busses. Please remember that if your child needs to take medication to camp, authorization forms must be completed and turned in to our health tech before departure.it is necessary to fill out a medication authorization form. This form needs to be turned into the school health tech prior to camp, if not, we will not be able to send the student with the medication. The form can be found on our school website under Announcements, 6th Grade Camp Information.
Return from Camp Friday, March 6th: Campers will return from camp at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 6th. A connect-ed message (email) will be sent home with an updated arrival time once we know when the buses have departed camp.
Parents are expected to pick up their children as soon as they return up once they arrive back from camp. Please note that luggage/camp gear arrives separately; students are not allowed to carry their luggage/camp gear on their regular bus. It is strongly advised that students do not walk home with their luggage/camp gear. Please make arrangements for pick-up for your child prior to their departure to camp.
Parking will be limited and traffic will be heavy during this time. Please do not park at Sunset Hills Elementary. Please do not park in the red zones, bus loading/unloading zones, or double park! Remember to pick up any medication (if sent to camp), along with any other miscellaneous items at the tables set up outside the front office.
If you will also be checking out your child’s siblings of your child, please call our attendance hotline, prior to March 6th.
Students not attending camp: 6th graders not attending camp will follow the regular bell schedule Monday – Friday as they participate in a Campus Camp program on the BMMS campus. Please note that on Friday, March 6th, Campus Camp students will be dismissed at 2:27 p.m.
Volunteers: Parent volunteers are needed Monday, March 2nd and Friday,March 6th to help with the loading/unloading camp gear, sign up here:

Miscellaneous: No food of any type is to be sent with your child. Any items brought to camp that are not allowed will be confiscated at camp.
Electronics: No electronics of any kind are allowed while your child is away at camp. These items that are brought to camp that are not allowed will be confiscated and those items can be claimed on Friday, March 6th, at the tables outside the front office.
Letters to camp: If you would like to write a letter to your child at camp, it is highly recommended that you mail the letters prior to the camp departure date. The camp address is: Cuyamaca Outdoor School, 12561 Highway 79, Descanso, CA 91916.
Mr. Corso will be visiting the camp on Wednesday, March 4th. If you would like to send a letter at that time, please make sure that you drop it off to the front office, in the box marked “camp letters”, by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd.
