Hello Eagle Families,
What a great start to the year we’ve had! I am excited to be starting my third year of service as your principal. Although Labor Day weekend is the “unofficial” end of summer, I am pleased to share our students have returned to school ready to learn and we have settled into daily routines. Remember you play a vital role in your child’s success at school. You can help by asking your child about his/her day, having a positive attitude about learning, and reading to or with your child every evening.
Sunflower’s teaching and support staff believe an environment of collaboration is the best way to reach our goals. This is the epitome of our mission and vision statements:
Mission Statement: TOGETHER, empowering each individual student to reach their unique potential.
Vision Statement: At Sunflower Elementary, we will collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to create an innovative, engaging, enjoyable learning environment where dreams are nurtured, exploration and discovery are encouraged, and individual academic achievements are realized. We will celebrate the accomplishments of each student as they leave our school as healthy, confident, academically prepared, and self-directed learners who are ready to meet the challenges of the future.
I look forward to working in partnership with you, your child, and our staff to realize your personal learning goals for your child(ren) and our school. Feel free to contact us if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jason Jones

4th Grade Eagle Choir
Dear parents,
Your child has an exciting opportunity to join choir the 4th Grade Eagle Choir! This is a completely optional and extracurricular activity, so enrollment is not required unless your child wants to participate! If your child enrolls in choir, attendance is expected and absences should be communicated to Mr. Prall prior to rehearsals. Choir is split between two parts. One part meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. and Part two meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. This gives us an opportunity to work on individual parts one day of the week and then we get to join up as a whole choir on Thursday and put it all together!
If your child is interested in joining, please scan the QR code at the bottom of the page and fill out the Google Form. If the QR code is not working correctly, I have provided a link below.
Our first rehearsal will take place on Thursday, September 5th where I will be assigning students their parts. If you have any questions about choir or anything else, please email me at prallg@usd231.com.
Looking forward to a great year of choir!
Musically yours,
Garrett Prall

This program is divided into two parts: a clinic and a game.
On Wednesday, September 18th, we will host the clinic at GEHS from 5:30 pm-8:00 pm. Check In will be from 5:00 pm-5:30 pm in the Auxiliary Gym at GEHS. The cheerleaders will teach our Little Blazers chants, cheers and safe stunting.
