PTO Update
We have a busy couple of weeks with the Book Fair this week and the SON +1 Date Night on October 6th. It will be a night to remember... Filled with a Glow Foam Party, Laser Tag, and much more. Wear your neon gear and LET'S GLOW!
Visit manchesterparkpto.org/sonplusone to purchase tickets and/or sign up to volunteer. We will need help at all the stations and activities. It's a perfect time for dads to come help while the moms have a fun-filled night with their sons. We can't do it without you!
With gratitude,
MP PTO

Halloween at MP
As I'm sure some have started Halloween costume prep, I wanted to send this info to you now.
Please make note of specifics below.
- 8:45 AM, Costume Parade
- Students are to wear costumes to school that day.
- Parents should send in a bag for costume storage if student prefers.
- Parade will take place outside, so parents may see our little goblins by standing in front and side parking lots.
- If weather does not cooperate, the parade will take place indoors with students only.
- 2:50 PM, Classroom Parties
- PTO will communicate with those coming in to facilitate games.
- Those supplying approved snacks may send those in with students on that Friday before.
- Party snacks will be enjoyed during the school day during regular snack time.
Costume Guidance
Please avoid the following:
- Full costume face masks. We must see student and adult faces.
- Extra accessories that may become distractions during the school day.
- Face painting, as that is tough for a student to wear all day.
- Anything scary or gruesome. That includes cartoon characters that send a negative or violent message.
- Play weapons or sharp objects.
Costumes should be easy enough for a student to manipulate independently and allow them to sit at student desks for learning activities.
Community Conversations with Superintendent and BOE
Earlier this week, the Communications department shared information about a new opportunity for district families to engage with Olathe leadership in a series called “Community Conversations.” These in-person events will take place four times throughout the year and will provide community members with an opportunity to have an open dialogue with members of the BOE. The first event is scheduled for Sept. 27 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the IRC.
OSSSC Parent Information Session
The first Olathe Special Services Site Council Parent Information Session – “A-Z In Service Delivery – Meeting Individual Needs of All Students” – will be on Tuesday, September 27 from 6:30-7:30pm via Zoom.
