Religion/Culture/Social Life
Education was crucial during the Han Dynasty, but school was only for boys, not girls. Several farm families lived together in small villages. Farmers cooked their simple meals in boxlike stoves. The Han Dynasty also had 2 separate sides, Legalism and Confucianism. The Han rulers thought that Confucianism alone was not good enough to guide the government. To solve the problem, the Han rulers combined both Confucianism and Legalism. Han artisans invented many materials. Han artisans crafted bronze an gold belt hooks, glazed pottery dishes, and jade jewelry. Han writes wrote brilliant works in mathematics, medicine, and poetry. Below shows a picture of what Confucius was like.
