There will be a separate district Financial Aid Night (virtual) on 10/7 (see below).
Junior Student/Parent Info Session
Junior counselors Mrs. Bagnick and Mrs. Corr will host an Information Session on topics including: Readjusting to School; the Junior Year Timeline; Planning for Your Next Steps; College Admission Testing (SAT’s, ACT’s), and more. We are hoping for a date toward the end of September; however, we have not secured a date as of this writing. Stay tuned, and watch for emails and Canvas announcements as soon as we finalize a date/time! (We plan to record the session as well.)
PSAT’s for 10th and 11th grade students:
PSAT’s for 10th and 11th grade students will be held on Saturday, October 16th PSAT at CB West. Registration will be open on the My Payments Plus website from August 16th until September 14th. All who register during this period will be guaranteed an exam. The registration window has been moved to be in line with College Board’s calendar, to ensure all who want to test can sign up and receive a test.
The PSAT is recommended for all college-bound 10th & 11th grade students as practice for the SAT. Current Juniors, who may have taken the PSAT last year, are encouraged to take the PSAT again as Juniors, as this administration may qualify them for National Merit Scholarship recognition. Please visit the Testing page of the Guidance website for details and registration instructions.
CBSD Financial Aid Overview will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 7th. This will be a VIRTUAL event, hosted by Ms. Fran McKeown, our PHEAA representative. We will provide the link through this newsletter, and on our Financial Aid page, closer to the event.

Attendance Updates
CB Farmers Market at Barclay Reopens on Wednesday, September 8th at 4:30
Any Central Bucks family who may need a little extra food assistance is welcome to join us on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at Barclay Elementary School. Our drive-up food distributions run from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. We generally have free dry goods, fresh produce, milk, eggs, and bread, and often have some frozen meat and poultry. At each event we pass out an average of 12,000-15,000 pounds of food.
The CB Farmers Market started in 2019 as a monthly market that distributed free produce. At the start of the pandemic, we recognized a significant need in our community, with many families needing food assistance for the first time in their lives. As our operations grew, so did our network of amazing individuals and community organizations—all of whom are committed to addressing food insecurity in the Central Bucks School District. By our estimates, 1,500 CB children may experience temporary or chronic food insecurity—a statistic which should not exist in a community with our resources. Our completely volunteer-run and managed organization was founded on two beliefs: 1) During times of need, which we all experience in one form or another, we should be able to count on the compassion and support of our neighbors; and 2) Our community’s collective commitment to our children is a bond much stronger than all of the other forces that might otherwise divide us.
We hope to see many families at our food distribution on September 8th at 4:30. No advanced sign-up is necessary. We kindly ask that you do not line up before 4:30, and that you do not block our neighbors’ driveways. They are very understanding and supportive of our work, but also need to come and go during our events. This month, with the support of many generous donors, we’ll also have a large stock of free school supplies. If you have any questions about the market, please e-mail jbrereton@cbsd.org or mamcdonald@cbsd.org.
Free Student Meals for the 21-22 School Year
In April 2021, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service extended the program that will provide for free meals for all students, regardless of income, for the 2021-22 school year. This has been made possible by nationwide waivers that provide for free meals for all students through June 2022.
All menus are available to be viewed online up to 2 weeks in advance by visiting cbsd.nutrislice.com.
Students are entitled to one complete reimbursable breakfast per day and one complete reimbursable lunch per day. Any second entrée or a la carte snack item will be charged to the students’ lunch account. We encourage all families to put money on their students account through MySchoolBucks.com as there will be no cash transactions this year to serve the students as safely and swiftly as possible.
We are thrilled to continue to safely serve students delicious, fresh, and nutritious meals at no charge, and we are equally excited to re-introduce our favorite programs to deliver fun, exciting, and tasty experiences to students throughout the coming year.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FROM PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has revised the immunization requirements for students.
State law requires that all immunizations must be completed within the first 5 days of school.
Please click here for further details.
If the student is in the middle of a series and it is too soon for the next dose, the parents must provide the school nurse with a plan for immunizations (signed by a health care provider) within the first 5 days. If the student has incomplete immunizations and no medical plan, the student will be excluded from school.
You may check your child’s school immunization record by logging onto the parent portal through the district website at this link or by consulting with your child’s physician.
