RMS Homework Club

We are excited to announce that RMS will be starting an after school Homework Club to support students three days a week.

Homework Club is held each week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:55 - 3:25 pm. We will have two teachers helping to supervise Homework Club so they can provide any additional support for students. The teachers supervising Homework Club are Ms. Huff (8th-grade ELA) and Ms. Kocisko (8th-grade math).

We will NOT have a sign-up system for Homework Club, if students would like to stay after school then they can simply stay, but it is the student's responsibility to communicate this with their parents and make arrangements to be picked up at 3:25 pm.

Also, it is absolutely free of charge for all students. Also, if students are missing several assignments, or if they had an extended absence from school, they may be "invited" by a teacher to attend Homework Club. This would allow them the opportunity to receive extra support to complete assignments and some credit for missing assignments.

We hope that students will take advantage of this extra resource that will be available to them beginning next week.

Attendance

Please remember if your child is not at school, you are required to call our Attendance Line to report the absence. Prior to 8:05 A.M. on the day of the student's absence, the parent or guardian is to call the school to report the absence (842-5151). If the parent did not call the absence in on the day of the absence, then the student is to bring, to the attendance office, a written note explaining the absence from school. The note should include the following information: (a) Student's name, (b) Grade, (c) Date(s) of absence, (d) Reason for absence, (e) Parent's signature. If the note is not turned in to the office, the absence will be unexcused. Students will be permitted to make up any work assigned on the day of an excused absence.
