Music Program Recognized as 'Best Communities for Music Education'
For the 16th consecutive year, Cumberland Valley has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. It’s an honor we wouldn’t have been able to earn without YOU. Thank YOU!
The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded annually to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

Science Olympiad Earns Historic School-Best Score
On Saturday, April 22, the Cumberland Valley Science Olympiad team finished the 2022-2023 season with a third place ranking at the PA State Finals. The 2023 team produced a historic CV school-best team score in the state tournament and the most 1st Place finishers at the state tournament in CV school history. In short, this year’s team is the best in school history.
While the team did not qualify for nationals, it was a very tight finish amongst the top three teams and CV came up a mere 3 points shy of first. Please help us celebrate our first through fifth place medalists:

Silver Spring Elementary School will celebrate the great diversity that makes our school community beautiful. The community is welcome to join Silver Spring staff and families from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in the school’s multipurpose room for their annual Culture Night celebration.
You're Invited to the CV Spiralettes Spring Show
The CV Spiralettes, through our Cumberland Valley Community Aquatic Program, proudly present Legends, Divas, and Superstars. The Spiralettes will kick off their annual show at 7:30 p.m. on May 5 and 6, 2023, in the Cumberland Valley High School natatorium. Tickets are $10 each and available at the door.
CVHS Student Earns All-State Fishing Team Recognition
Congratulations to Nolan Fernandez, who is one of only 52 outstanding high school anglers from across the country to have been named to the 2023 Bassmaster High School All-State Fishing Team presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.
The students were selected for the honor based on their success in bass tournament competition, academic achievement, and leadership in conservation and community service. Nolan is a sophomore who also attends Cumberland Perry Area CTC.
We're #CVproud to recognize our students and staff for their accomplishments both in the classroom and throughout the community. Congratulations, Nolan!

April is Month of the Military Child and last week students and staff across the district displayed kindness, compassion, and empathy as they wore purple in honor, celebration, and appreciation of our military children. They are a Portrait of an Eagle!

Childcare will be Available
The West Shore School District's Special Education Department is hosting a Community Supports Expo for parents with students attending West Shore, Cumberland Valley, East Pennsboro, and Camp Hill School Districts. Come speak with representatives from Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties, Arc of York County, Easterseals, Include Me, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, TNS Programs, and other organizations. Reminder: Change to Start/End Times for Eastern Elementary Schools
District administration has been working over the past year to identify ways to return our eastern elementary schools to an earlier start time. With the identification of an additional transportation service and new drivers, we believe we are able to move Hampden, Shaull, Sporting Hill, and Winding Creek Elementary schools back to a 9:15 a.m. start time, with an end time of 3:55 p.m., beginning next school year.
