Covid Protocols- Update
After thoroughly consulting with health experts, receiving more guidance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), meeting with the COVID-19 Advisory Task Force, and hearing from the community at large, Mansfield ISD administration has made the decision to continue the requirement of masks while reducing the quarantine time for students and staff to 10 days following an exposure to COVID-19.
Face Masks: The proper face mask (over the nose and mouth) will still be required for all staff members and students in grades 4-12. Students in younger grades will still be highly encouraged to wear them as well. Practices like frequent handwashing, social distancing, and frequent disinfecting have not changed.
Ten-day Quarantine: Effective Monday, March 8, the quarantine time for an exposed individual will be 10 days if he/she has not developed any symptoms during that period. Upon return to district facilities, the quarantined individual must be monitored daily for symptoms and be properly and consistently masked, regardless of grade level (grades PK-12), for days 11-14. Please be patient with us as we update the district's website and all internal and external documents to reflect this revision.
The safety of students, staff, and families will always be top priority. As we continue to review state guidance, work with local health officials and evaluate our protocols, we will communicate any changes or decisions. MISD will continue tracking the data and remain in talks with local health officials to ensure the well-being of the community is at the forefront of every decision made. Any further updates will be communicated accordingly.
Mrs. Buggar is one of our Special Education teachers. She has been a true team player, this year, supporting students and teachers in every way possible. We appreciate her hard work and dedication to our school.
Congratulations, Mrs. Buggar!
Student Tardiness
In order to maximize instructional time, students are expected to be in class ready to learn when the bell rings. There has been a gradual increase in unexcused late arrivals in the morning. Remember that students are considered late to school if they are not in their classroom ready to learn at the 8:00 bell. Please make every effort to ensure this takes place.
Thank you for helping us get our students to class on time!
CAN YOU SAY BOX TOPS?
FREE MEALS FOR ALL-EXTENDED THROUGH MAY 26TH
We are going to extend the “free meals for all” meal program into the Spring semester. It will now be available through May 26 for in-person learners, virtual learners, and children of our community.
Families should still apply for the Free & Reduced program if their household financial situation should change. A simple and secure application is available at www.schoolcafe.com/mansfieldisd or through the schoolcafe mobile app.
We will communicate this to families in our regular avenues and welcome you to share it in your parent newsletters as well.
We are closely monitoring the in-person enrollment and participation levels at each campus to staff it accordingly. As always, contact us with questions/concerns. Have a great week!

QUEST (After School Childcare)
QUEST is Mansfield ISD's before and after-school care program. Students attending the QUEST program are involved in a variety of activities, allowing for creative expression, socialization, and community awareness. Most importantly, students are safe, comfortable, and have fun through a variety of interactive activities. Morning, before school
care, is from 7:00 am – 7:30 am. After school care is from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm, during school days. For more information please call our Quest office at 817-299-7596 or email us at Quest@misdmail.org.
Safety Protocols
- Health screenings –Align with the district and have students and staff pre-screen prior to arrival. All QUEST team members will have district badges and key cards so we can utilize it as a tracing function.
- PPE supplies – Student Services has provided the proper PPE supplies to utilize and ordered additional items to safeguard students and staff.
- Cleaning & sanitizing – At the end of each day, the custodial staff will clean every room/area utilized by the QUEST program.
- Instructor: student ratio – 1:20. Every attempt has been made to place students in cohorts, however, this may vary based on enrollment.
- Hand washing – Hand washing will be built into the before and after school program schedules.
- Contactless check-in/out – Quest will be implementing a drive-thru check-in/out procedure. Parents will utilize a PIN to check their child(ren) in/out. A driver’s license will be an added layer of verification at pick up. To assist with a rapid checkout we are strongly encouraging parents to utilize Remind 101 or Class Dojo. A QUEST staff member will meet them at the designated location with the child(ren). Security radios will be used for communication purposes.
- Sick/ill child – Parents of the sick student will be contacted immediately for pick up and custodial services will be informed of area(s) needing to be cleaned/sanitized.
