Hello Westside Families! Our new school year is fast approaching and we are preparing to launch an amazing experience for your child. Please find important registration and first week information to help with a smooth transition. *Don't forget July 25th starts Tax Free Week! Supply lists are at the bottom of this newsletter.

Westside is continuing to hire passionate, dedicated individuals for our 22-23 staff. Currently, we are in need of the following positions:

• Sixth Grade Teacher
• VE-SLD Teacher
• Speech-Language Pathologist
• Occupational Therapist
• Part-Time Guidance Service Professional
• 1 Custodial Team member

A legal guardian from EVERY family must come to campus during our Registration Day to obtain teacher assignment, bus and car tags, and more!

HAVE A FAST PASS?

Simply bring your FAST PASS(es) with you and "drive through" our Registration Loop to pick up all your child's paperwork, teacher assignment, bus slips and more.

Families who do not have a FAST PASS or are brand new to Westside will be asked to park and come into the building to complete the process on that day. Please bring 2 proofs of residency such as a valid Florida's Driver's License, and a utility bill. You will be asked to complete a couple short forms including an updated Health Card for each of your children, so please block out 30-45 minutes to complete registration process.

KONA ICE will be on campus if you'd like to enjoy a summery, cold treat while you register!

Bring the family to meet your teachers for the upcoming school year, drop off supplies, sign up for clubs, join our PTO, and begin making a partnership with our school!

You can also purchase Westside Spirit Shirts from our PTO (Cash preferred)

The first day of school for Grades 1-6 is August 10th!

Kindergarten officially starts on August 15th, however, we will be doing a "soft start" with small groups on August 10-12. Your child's teacher will be reaching out to schedule your date.

VPK will begin on August 17th and your child's teacher will contact you soon with more information.

We are excited to see our returning Explorers and meet the new additions to our Westside Family! Reminder: due to district protocols, families are not permitted inside campus during arrival or dismissal. Trustworthy staff members will meet your child at the door and ensure they arrive to their classroom and returned to you at the end of each day.

Our BPS safety protocols require any adult on campus during school hours must be a registered volunteer. This includes helping in our classrooms, working with students, participating in our PTO and assisting with special events. We are looking to expand our volunteer program next year and will need as many wonderful and willing adults as possible to support the students and school.

Westside is looking to grow our community outreach for next year and hope you will be part of this wonderful expansion. Our vision is to enhance student achievement and real-world knowledge through our business partnerships. This could include reading with students, participating in a career presentation, conducting a hands-on learning lesson, starring in a video interview about your business and steps you took to achieve it, and much more.

We hope you will join us in taking Westside to the next level in 2022-2023!
