Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

We hope you are all rested up and enjoyed your family time over break. For some, (parents) this has been a very long vacation. For others... not long enough. In either case, we just wanted to remind everyone to dress in layers and to write names on all those new coats, gloves, snow pants, etc. We are deep into winter and it is beyond COLD out there. Please be sure that your child has full winter gear daily. We have outdoor recess up to -10 (including wind chill), so students need to be dressed for it!

We are jumping right into third quarter here at Tustumena. This week are our Lynx Tracks Ice Skating field trips. See the Upcoming Events for your child's day.

We also want to say "GREAT JOB" to our students and staff for such a wonderful Winter Program. It was enjoyed by all in the audience as well as those performing. Congratulations on a very successful program!

A Note from Nurse Claudette

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Please remember if your child is sick KEEP THEM HOME!

Stomach bug or norovirus?

You may hear norovirus illness called “food poisoning”, “stomach flu”, or “stomach bug.” Noroviruses are the leading cause of foodborne illness. Norovirus illness is NOT related to the flu, which is caused by influenza virus. Norovirus is a highly contagious virus. Norovirus infection causes gastroenteritis (inflammation of the stomach and intestines). This leads to diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. Norovirus takes a long time to get over. Students with a confirmed case of norovirus, should be kept home until told to return by a doctor. For more information, follow the link below.
