The Eagle Express

THE NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 11 - 15

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Howdy Eagles!

I hope everyone had a fantastic first week back! The spring semester is in full-swing and graduation will be here before we know it!

That being said, I wanted to revisit our discussion from last week's staff development. If we, as a campus, want to get results like we've never gotten, we have to do things we've never done. All we really have to do is be better than we were the day before. It's about the constant pursuit of improvement and never settling for good enough. It's time to turn it up the extra degree. LET'S TAKE AKINS TO 212!

I hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Sincerely,

Brandi Hosack

Principal

SHOUT-OUTS

High School Showcase

Akins' HS represented in full-force at the first annual AISD High School Showcase. All-in-all, we had a combination of over 50 teachers/students show up to market the amazing programs and opportunities that are available here at Akins. I could not be more proud of the work and effort put in by all! A special thank-you to the Academy Coordinators for their planning and preparation to ensure a great event!

Criminal Justice Interns

A big shout-out to Dr. Katz and the CJ interns - in case you missed it, KUT did a story on the program and it has gone viral! It's a true representation of the authentic learning the programs on campus do for students. If you missed it, check out the link below!
