LES Hearing and Vision Screening
Hearing and Vision Screening will take place on February 5th and 6th for all students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten (if not previously screened upon entry in FCPS Pre-K), 1st grade and any new to the Maryland public school system. Maryland State Law mandates this screening. Parents/guardians who have an objection to this screening based on the tenets and/or practice of their church or religion must submit a request for their child to be exempt from screening. All written requests must be submitted to the health room by February 2nd. Please make sure if your child wears glasses or contacts that they have them on the screening days. If you have any questions, please contact the health room at 240-236-3708.

Bring in those box tops! Our next box top submission date is Feb. 28th.
WANTED: We need businesses to sponsor our Spring Lottery Fundraiser in the month of April. We need $50 cash or gift certificates that we can use as prizes. All donations need to be received by February 27th & can be turned into Danielle Rinker.
FCPS FY19 Budget Planning is Underway
- Wednesday, February 7 BOE Budget Public Hearing: Frederick High School at 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 14 BOE Meeting: The Board determines what budget to submit to the County Executive.

January Student Celebrations
Way to go first graders! Their informative writing pieces were carefully planned and showed growth in organization. The students also used their math strategies on assessments. We are proud of their growth! Mrs. Hoffman

George H is such a hard worker! I have never seen a student take so much time and effort on his assessments. He will try strategy after strategy on his math assessments and not give up till he has a reasonable answer. Way to go George! Mrs. Stup

I wanted to celebrate Liam G for his perseverance. He has learned to Jump Rope. He is still working on consistency with it but he CAN DO IT!!!! Mrs. Burgess
Congratulations to Aliyah M for being recognized as the “gold” badge recipient for Safety Patrol for the month of December. Aliyah was chosen because of her commitment to being on time and at her post daily. Way to go Aliyah! Mrs. Nettleton
