Conferences
I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving with family and friends as well a deserved break!
Winter is here- Recess Outside
We will continue to go outside for lunch/recess and mask breaks during the winter months. We will hold indoor recess if the windchill or temperature drops below 0 degrees, otherwise we will most likely be going outside.
Please send your child to school with a winter coat, hat, gloves, etc. so they can participate in outdoor activities and stay warm. Students may leave an extra pair of gloves, hats, winter boots at school inside their locker if needed.
Safety Reminders
Pets
Due to safety and health concerns, pets may not be brought into school or on school grounds before, during, or after school. Recognizing that some children fear animals, please avoid bringing pets on school walking routes. We have seen many pets this year on Prospect's school grounds at arrival and dismissal.
Please follow the information above that can be found in the K-8 student handbook.
Car Line
Drop-off and Pick-up Reminders
During drop-off and pick-up hours (8:25-8:40, 11:25/12:15, 3:05-3:20), please don’t walk through the car line. For example: if you are volunteering and leaving the school at 3:05, please walk to the parking lot exit and cross safely at the crosswalk that leads into the parking lot.
We ask that children exit/enter vehicles on the right side of the vehicle. Please do not get out of your car and walk your child to the other side.
The staff parking lot should also not be used as a means to avoid waiting in line. Please do not pull into a parking spot and have your children walk across the carline as this is extremely dangerous.
Please do not park in the handicap spots in the staff parking lot to drop off or pick up your children.
For safety reasons, please do not park in the overflow lot and let your children walk through the car lane.
Please do not pull in off of Prospect Avenue into the parking lot and enter the line. All cars need to pull in off of Chicago Avenue near CHMS.
Please communicate this information to babysitters, nannies, grandparents, etc.
