Daisy Troop 2209
January Update
Hi Troop 2209 Parents!
Our girls:
- Reviewed the Girl Scout Promise and Law (see below)
- Heard the Zinni story and discussed ways to be considerate and caring
- Made Valentine's Day cards for Horizon Bay residents who might not otherwise receive cards
- Discussed cookie sales and ideas for what our goal should be
- Sang two songs: "I'm a Girl Scout Daisy" and "I've Got Something in my Pocket"
- Brainstormed ideas for the next meeting, "Make the World a Better Place."
Next meeting, Tuesday, February 18th (hosted by Marylou Bailey): Make the World a Better Place
Cookies! We are now in full pre-order taking mode.
The Girl Scouts of West Central Florida just sent out an email with more cookie information. Follow this link if you didn't receive it: click here.
Today, we asked the girls about their goal for selling cookies. Here is a list of things they'd like to use their cookie money for (they earn $.65 per box). Here is a partial list:
- Sleep over pillow fight party...in PJs
- Pay bills/membership dues (yes, a child said pay bills!)
- Get fingernails painted
- Buy supplies like paint brushes, sticker books and paper
- Go swimming--a swim party...and dress up like mermaids
- Go to Disney World (this is where we got to put cookie sales into perspective: that is about 300 boxes sold per girl!)
- Laser tag
- See the Belle movie
- A Pinata!

I’m a Girl Scout Daisy, Take a look at me.
I’m a Girl Scout Daisy, happy as can be.
We’re having fun and sharing, each and every day.
I’m a Girl Scout Daisy, Hip Hip, Hurray!
I’m a Girl Scout Daisy, take a look at me.
I’m a Girl Scout Daisy, happy as can be.
I’m going on a journey, with friends along the way.

The Girl Scout Promise and Law
The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
