January 2019

Big picture

Elementary Schools

In January, our elementary schools are doing amazing things! Students have been learning about nonfiction books, Fairy Tales and Folklore, and the 2x2 Books. The award-winning author, Jan Brett, will be studied and the schools will be conducting Mystery Google Hangouts with each other! Bluebonnet voting and parties are coming up as is a Mock Caldecott. Makerspace activities continue to be a huge hit as well.

Secondary Schools

Rogers and Reynolds Middle Schools are kicking off their annual Anthology Project. This year's theme is "Dreaming of...". Submission dates are January 14 - February 8. A book signing party and copies of books will be available later in the semester. PHS is having a Reading Bingo! For the third quarter, pick up Bingo boards in the library and see if you can get a Bingo. Teachers, a few assistant principals, and personnel from administration are participating, too.
