Please be sure to stop by and introduce yourself to her.
NEW FACILITIES MAINTENANCE LEAD
Please join us in welcoming David Drake to the CLP team. David and Kathy have been involved at CLP for several years and we are so excited that David is joining us. He will begin training with Alberto full time at the end of the month before taking the reins the beginning of July. Congratulations, David!
UPDATES FROM THE CLP BOARD
ZONING VARIANCE SIGN
Please don’t be alarmed if you see a sign from the City of Litchfield Park posted on our church property. We have filed a zoning variance application with the City asking for a zero-lot line on the south and west sides of our property. The hearing date for this variance is set for July 7, 2022. Approval of a zero-lot line will enable us to expand Zieske Hall and the classrooms to meet the growing needs of our church. We will keep you posted on the progress of this request and the actions of your Master Plan Committee.
MEMORIAL GIFTS UPDATE
The Church at Litchfield Park has been very blessed to have received many memorial gifts through the years. Our gratitude goes far and wide and these gifts enable our ministries to reach many on our campus, in the community, or online.
Most memorials were not designated for a specific ministry and several projects on the church campus needed to be addressed. These projects were not included in the annual operating budget. The Board of Directors recognized this and made the decision to honor loved ones in several ways. In the last three years the memorial funds have been combined and applied as follows:
- Replaced five outside doors on the Fireside North and South wing. Removed the AC duct and installed a soundproof wood door separating Fireside North and South to lessen noise transference.
- Renewed landscaping at the front of the church, outside Zieske Hall, and in the Garden of Memories. This included new irrigation lines, sprinklers, and low voltage lighting.
- HVAC was replaced in classroom 2.
- Remodeled Souers Community Hall stage area (paint, flooring, building materials, labor, rugs, and accessories) to prepare for the new multigenerational service.
- Rebuilt AC ducting between classrooms 3 and 4 to reduce noise transference.
- Bought new drum set and electric piano for the Worship Band.
- Updated Audio/Visuals to improve worship experience in the sanctuary, Souers Community Hall, and online. This included new cameras, sound board, microphones, cables, monitors, speakers, projectors, screens, lighting, mounting brackets, and accessories.
The congregation at The Church at Litchfield Park is forever thankful.

President, Board of Directors

ROSE GARDENS NEED TLC
Can YOU volunteer to help maintain beautiful rose gardens on our church campus? Roses need to be pruned in fall and early spring. During the blooming period, spring to autumn, the bushes need to be “dead-headed.” Deadheading is removing spent blooms from the bush. Doing this allows the bush to continue blooming. Otherwise, the rose will go to seed and much blooming will cease. Training for pruning and deadheading will be provided. Men and women are invited to join in this rewarding endeavor; High school students are also welcomed. For more information contact the church office at 623-935-3411, info@clp.com, or sign up online at https://clp.breezechms.com/form/roses.
SEEKING CHORAL SINGERS
Join our choir for Summer Singers Sundays. Meet at 7:30am in the choir room and we will rehearse and sing at the 8am and 9:15am services. During the summer the choir will sing on the second Sunday of July and August, and all are welcome to join us!
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Did you know that two-thirds of Christians come to faith before the age of 18, and 43% of Christians come to Christ before the age of 12? Sunday School volunteers change lives, and we need your help. If you have a passion for seeing children grow and engage in their faith, we have a place for you. Curriculum, training, and support are provided by Children's Ministries Director Aimee Wickersham. You will also join a fantastic team of volunteers. Currently, we need preschool age and 3rd-5th grade teachers. Sign up today and make a difference:
MUSICIANS AND VOCALISTS
Do you play the drums, guitar, bass guitar or sing? We would love to grow our 10:45AM worship team. Rehearsals are currently on Monday night and prior to the 10:45am worship service in Souers Hall. If you are interested in learning more contact Pablo at pquijas@clp.church.
STEP UP AND BE AN USHER
We are always looking for ushers for Sunday services. We encourage you to usher as a family with your kids helping too! If you’re interested in serving, see Rob Gimbl or click on the following link https://clp.breezechms.com/form/usher.
HANDBELL CHOIR
Our handbell choirs are made up of wonderful people just like you. Some of them couldn't read a bit of music when they started, but our Bell Master, Marilyn, taught them what they needed to know. You are invited to call Marilyn or leave word in the church office. if you would like to be a part of either of the choirs. All of us would love to have you join us!

“In the Garden” on June 11 was a delightful time of devotions, prayer, brunch, and fellowship organized by Women’s Fellowship leader Brenda Houlihan. MISSION FOCUS: HOMEWARD BOUND
Homeward Bound is a Valley non-profit which creates pathways out of poverty for homeless families in our greater community and is one of the area agencies that our church supports financially. Rebecca Utech visited our church on Sunday morning to share their mission with worshipers at all three services. She also visited with some of the Sunday school children to talk about how the center helps those in need. After her presentation those in Sunday School made cards for the children staying at the Homeward Bound facility in Phoenix. (Photo by Jane Holdcroft)
