From The Field To The Table
Practical Hunting & Survival Skills Every Texan Should Know
Join us for a Saturday outdoors while we teach you the proper way to get your deer from the field to your dinner plate.
We will cover the best kill zones, proper field dressing, skinning and capeing, basic quartering and processing, safe campfire skills, dutch oven cooking of your deer and finally lunch is served.
We'll teach the importance of ethical hunting with hands on outdoor experiences. Offer your kids the great outdoors as an alternative to video games.
Frequently Asked Questions
Please note that we will shoot, field dress, skin, cape, process, cook, and eat an actual deer. One of the most important lessons in our class for ethical hunting is that you must always eat what you harvest. This process starts on Saturday at 9:00am and usually finishes up around 3:00pm. Our class is family friendly, christian based, and hands on in an outdoor setting so dress appropriately. We welcome anyone over the age of 9 years old but all minors must be accompanied by an adult. The classes are small to insure that all questions are answered and everyone is able to be as involved as they want to be. Email the address below for available Saturday dates. Old School Skinning School will charge $150.00 per person for the class including a small breakfast and big lunch.
