What Is A Flood?
Flash Floods in israel
A Personal Story...
On June 9, 1972, Merlyn Magner was 19 and had just returned home after a year in Los Angeles.
A day that began with such promise quickly turned into a nightmare as 10 to 15 inches of rain fell in the Black Hills. Water and debris poured down the hills and canyon walls, creating a path of destruction up to 8 miles wide.
Magner’s new book, “Come into the Water: A Survivor’s Story,” tells how she lost everything that night in the flood that killed 238 people, including her parents and brother. But it is also a tale of her lifelong search to understand the tragedy that forever changed her life.
