How Does Pickerington’s Tax Rates Compare to Other Central Ohio Communities?
As you consider the Pickerington Schools bond issue on the Nov. 8 ballot, it is important to note that Pickerington tax rates are among the lowest in the Central Ohio area. The following chart shows the total estimated annual taxes paid for a $300,000 market value home in various communities. It also assumes a gross income of $95,000**; a federally adjusted gross income of $78,300; and $15,000 in annual purchases of local taxable goods and services.
It is also important to note that even if the Pickerington Schools 2.80 mill bond issue on the November 8 ballot passes, tax rates are forecasted to fall by ½ a mill. This will make the new levy ‘feel’ like or be similar to a renewal in that tax rates won’t increase while the community continues its commitment.
You can learn more about the upcoming bond issue here. Information about voting is available at the Vote Ohio website. Absentee and in-person voting is already underway!
