Canvas & Assessments

Learning resources or assignments will be posted in Canvas as the course requires. Students must be present in class to access all state, district, and school-level tests, quizzes, and projects.


To maintain test security, a VCS issued computer is required to access all college entrance, state, district & school level exams, tests, and quizzes. (See your high school content teacher if additional information is needed.)


Students must be present in class to access all tests, quizzes, and projects. All other learning resources or assignments are posted in Canvas as the course requires.

Missing Assignments for Excused Absences

In case of excused absences, and absences under VCS Board Policy 4400, students are permitted the below number of days to make up:


5 or fewer excused absences: once the student returns, the student has five school days to complete and turn in the missed assignment(s)


6 or more excused absences: once the student returns, the student has five school days to complete and turn in the missed assignment(s)


Students will receive a score of zero (0) for incomplete work not received within the above-stated time schedule.


See individual high school course syllabus for any additional teacher requirements concerning make-up work.


Make-up dates are retroactive.

VCS & VGCC Course Scheduling

Per VCS Student Attendance Board Policy 4400: Daily classroom attendance is required for all face-to-face and online high school classes.


Students must communicate and meet with the college liaison for fall, spring, and summer course schedules, college advisory sessions, and as requested by Miss Robinson.


Some considerations for college course schedules may include:

College courses are scheduled based on the availability of courses as aligned with high school class schedules, state testing scores, and academic success of previously enrolled college courses.


Due to the logistics of scheduling, high school and college course schedules are NOT created or changed to accommodate work schedules.

VGCC Spring & Summer Calendar

Spring 2022-16-Week Curriculum Calendar: Jan. 7th - May 10th

Spring 2022 2nd- 8-week Curriculum Calendar: Mar. 14th - May 10th


Summer 2022: May 23rd - July 25th


VECHS Qualifications for 8-wk summer course (limited to one or two courses):


  • No college withdrawals
  • C or higher final grade in all 2021-22 Fall/Spring courses
  • Minimum cumulative VGCC GPA of 2.5 or higher for one course
  • Minimum cumulative VGCC GPA of 3.2 or higher for two courses
  • 8-Wk courses only
  • Students are responsible for the purchase of textbooks for summer courses



Reminder: One withdrawal per school year (Aug. 1st 0 July 31st). Additional withdrawals without prior approval from VECHS Principal will be entered as an F grade on the students' high school transcript.


Students are responsible for the purchase of college textbooks and access codes for summer courses.

High School Course Failure

Parents/legal guardians and students will be required to attend a June meeting to discuss the students' possible school exit plan.
