Sweet 16 voting for our 2015 Tournament of Books is this Wednesday. If you are participating in this fun contest, make sure your book is read by Wednesday!
We are still collecting phone book covers. Send them in!
School is in session this Friday, April 3. We will have Good Friday retreat activities and liturgy at 1pm. If you will be attending, you can email me and let me know you will be taking your child home directly after liturgy. If I don't receive an email from you by Thursday, and you still want to take your child home after Good Friday services, you will need to sign them out in the classroom.

This Month's Genre Study: Traditional Literature
What's Happening?!
Word Study/Spelling: new word lists will be created Monday. We are focusing on the suffixes -tion and -able for the next two weeks. Tic Tac Toe homework is due Friday. Test will be Friday, April 10.
Math: We will review adding/subtracting mixed numbers on Monday. Math Stations will meet on Tuesday. We will QUIZ over adding/subtracting mixed numbers on WEDNESDAY. We will begin our measurement unit on Thursday. Keep studying multiplication/division facts at home!
Writer's Workshop: We will be doing some expository writing and publishing a class book throughout the next two weeks. We will be writing an Indiana ABC book. Each student will be responsible for assigned letters from the alphabet to research important Hoosier landmarks, people, etc.
Reading: We will be doing a class lit circle this week. We are going to be reading Love That Dog by Sharon Creech. April genre bags will also be distributed this week. Our genre focus is traditional literature, and the completed bags will be due on April 30.
English: finish chapter 6, DOL Quiz Friday
Science: continue animal adaptations, Engineer a Frog STEM activity
Indiana History: continue Indiana during the Revolutionary War, Indiana ABC class book project
Religion: Our Resurrection Gardens have been planted! We will make our crosses for the gardens on Tuesday, and we will continue to water them this week. All gardens can be taken home on Thursday or Friday...whichever is most convenient for you! Verse to be memorized by THURSDAY. We will have a school-wide Washing of the Feet on Thursday morning. We will also have a Good Friday Retreat on Friday morning and Good Friday services in church at 1pm.
