Parents,
Today's House Hoopla, extended House meeting, was a blast! The children spent an hour with their House friends and participated in team building activities and challenges. I have shared some photos below so you can experience a fraction of the joy that I got to see! A special shout out to our 5th graders for being such wonderful mentors to our youngest Bears!!
Today ends our 1st quarter! Many of you have already met with your child's teacher and I hope that your conferences were productive and helpful. Communication is a priority for us! Remember that Monday and Tuesday are student holidays due to teacher planning/conference days.
Thank you to everyone who attended our PTO Halloween Trunk or Treat event at the track!
Sincerely,
Andrew Davis - Principal
Thanksgiving Food and Dinner Kit Drive
Because so many of you donate Thanksgiving dinners each year, I wanted to let you know we are collecting full dinner kits as well as individual donations this year. Our goal is 30 dinner kits, either collected in full or assembled from individually donated items. These kits will be distributed to Round Hill families in need of Thanksgiving assistance. Individually donated items will be shared with RHUMC Food Pantry and Loudoun Hunger Relief.
If you would like to donate a full dinner kit, flyer is attached listing the items to put in a reusable grocery bag. We will be collecting through November 4. Thank you for your help in supporting all of our families. -Joey Fuller, Parent Liaison (joanne.fuller@lcps.org)
Veterans Day Program - Friday, November 11 at 8:30 am - We need your help!
Round Hill ES is pleased to present a live Veterans Day program the morning of Friday November 11, 2022. It has been three years since we have been able to present a live program, and we are excited!
We ask for your help in contributing photos of family members who are veterans of the US Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Space Force). We ask that each family:
- Contribute ONE photo of a family member veteran. If there are multiple veterans in your family, please limit yourself to ONE photo per person. It would be great if the photo shows the veteran in uniform, but it is not a requirement!
- Please include the first and last name of the veteran and the relation to your student(s) in the photo name (ex. JOHN JONES grandfather of Samantha Jones)
- Please upload the photos to the RHL Veterans Day Photos folder.
- Please upload all photos no later than THURSDAY NOVEMBER 3, 2022 to ensure that we have time to include the photographs in the photo montage.
For security reasons, please do NOT send photos of anyone who is currently serving in the US Armed Forces. Please email leonard.baber@lcps.org with any questions you may have.
Today was our first House Hoopla Event!
Special Thanks from Mrs. Wieman and Ms. Baker in the Library!
Thanks to your generosity and that of your children, we were able to provide 21 of our less-fortunate students with two books each from the book fair. The smiles on their faces said it all. Words cannot express my gratitude.

Second Stop Bully Prevention Home Links
Over the past two weeks, our School Counselors, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Blair, have been teaching about how to recognize bullying behaviors. We define bullying behaviors as one-sided, repetitive, mean on purpose behaviors that take away one’s power. Please click on the corresponding grade level to learn more about the lesson that was taught.
The Imagination Library - Free books each month for children 5 and under!!
Round Hill Bears,
Have you ever heard of The Imagination Library?
This non-profit program started by Dolly Parton in 1995 has gifted over 161 million books, been recognized by The Library of Congress, and has brought immeasurable joy to recipients, providing high quality, curated books monthly to all children regardless of socioeconomic status from birth to age 5. A local chapter, Roots Grow Wings, was recently started, and now serves all of Western Loudoun! All children 5 and under can enroll now. When you enroll your children or grandchildren, you will receive a free, age appropriate, book for each child enrolled every month until the age of 5. It’s such an amazing program, and it may sound too good to be true, but I promise it’s not. There is no fine print, just sign them up.
Currently we have enrolled over 600 children from birth to age 5 and have gifted over 7000 books since we launched in April 2021! We would love to see that number continue to grow!
