What is Brain Cancer?

Primary brain cancer develops from cells within the brain. Part of the central nervous system, the brain is the control center for vital functions of the body, including speech, movement, thoughts, feelings, memory, vision, hearing and more.

22,340 malignant tumors in the brain were diagnosed in one year, 12,260 in males and 10,080 in woman. All diagnosed in 2011. Less than 1% of 150 men can be diagnosed with brain cancer and 1% of 185 women can get brain cancer.
