Spring Book Fair is coming soon

The Book Fair will be back beginning April 26th. This is a great opportunity to stock up on books for summer reading and road trips! The Book Fair will be open daily from 7:45-4:00 April 26th - May 3rd.

Afternoon Car Pick Up Reminder

Please remember to have your yellow sign displayed in your car window if you pick your child(ren) up in the car line in the afternoons. The yellow sign helps our dismissal run quicker because a staff member will radio into the gym when he/she sees the name on the yellow sign, and your child(ren) will be waiting to get in your car when you pull up. If you need another sign, stop by the front office to get a new one.

2nd and 3rd Grade Field Day - May 3rd

Field Day is Friday, May 3rd for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will have Field Day on May 10th.

Students should wear tennis shoes and comfortable (dress code appropriate) clothes on Field Day, as well as apply sunscreen that morning. It would be a great idea to send extra water bottles and a hat with your child that day.

Coach D and Coach Lash are in need of volunteers to help run stations that day. If you are available to volunteer, please click on the following link:

Student Placement Profiles

Student placement is a complex process that begins in the spring each year for the following school year. Our goals in this process include building classes that are heterogeneously grouped (balance of boys and girls, achievement levels, behaviors, special programs, etc) and to match teachers' personalities with students' personalities. Current grade level teachers meet with campus administrators at the end of the year to create classes.

Student Placement Profile forms went home in today's Friday folders. Parent input regarding their child's learning strengths and weaknesses are a crucial part of the data that we review to finalize classes. If you would like to provide information about your child's learning style, please complete the Student Placement Profile form and return to the front office on or before May 10, 2019. Forms will not be accepted after May 10th, as campus administrators use this to finalize class lists over the summer. Please note that specific teacher requests will not be accepted.

Summer School - Mark Your Calendars

Summer school dates for this year will be June 3rd-13th from 8:30 am-11:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Only one summer school session will be offered this year. If your child needs to attend summer school for academic and/or attendance reasons, you will receive an invitation within the next couple of weeks.

If your child receives an invitation to attend summer school, please make sure your child attends all summer school dates. In some cases, promotion to the next grade level depends on successful completion of summer school.

Character Trait of The Month...

April's Character Trait is Integrity. Here are ways that students can demonstrate Integrity:

  • Be strong enough to do what you know is right;
  • Do the right thing, even when it's difficult;
  • Be your best self;
  • Resist peer pressure;
  • Choose words and actions that are sincere;
  • Set high standards for yourself and stick to them.

Students will learn more about Integrity in Guidance with Mrs. Sexton!

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! While discussing our character trait of the month, Integrity, students are learning that one way to show integrity is by helping others in need. We invite you to join students at Lago Vista High School on Saturday, May 4th at the LVHS one-mile cross-country track to walk and support the cause of WE Walk for Water. Every day, women and children around the world spend 200 million hours fetching water, often from sources full of dangerous contaminants. When #WEwalkForWater communities have access to clean water, girls can attend school, parents can run sustainable farms, and families can break the cycle of poverty. In order to raise funds and awareness for this program, the students are asking for a registration fee donation of $5 for students and $10 for adults. A donation of $25 raises enough money to give one person access to clean water for life! Registration begins at 9 am at the football field entry gate. There will be light refreshments and karaoke afterwards! To find out more about this cause, go to: You may also email for more information.

Thank you for showing your child that there are many ways to show integrity by doing the right thing for others, as well as themselves!

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.” ~Dalai Lama

~Dalai Lama
