PINE RUN STUDENT REPORTERS
STUDENT-RUN ANNOUNCEMENTS!
With the daily guidance of Mr. Fell, each week sixth grade students prepare a script for Pine Run's daily announcements. Students select music, research special dates , announce student birthdays, welcome guest teachers, and share a “fun fact” based on the day's special category:
Mindful Monday:
A note, suggestion, or quote about mindfulness and how to apply it at school
Talk-About-It Tuesday :
Students discuss an upcoming school event, school-wide initiative, or assembly/spirit
day
Wellness Wednesday:
Information about living a healthy lifestyle; this is usually led by the school wellness
committee
Throwback Thursday :
Brief history notes are shared usually involving what happened on this date in history
Friday Fun Day :
Students find an upcoming local community event happening over the weekend to share with the school
Also, Friday announcements are videotaped! The video design and much of the editing is done by 6th grade student volunteers. Included is a slide show of pictures submitted by classroom teachers using their ipads. It is a great way to round out our week of learning!!!
