Cordelia Hills Update

9/30/2019

Principal Message

Our school has held several drills this year, including a lockdown drill. Staff spent the first weeks teaching students about this drill and preparing them for the event. All District sites practice emergency response across the year including intruder, lockdown, fire, and earthquake drills.

Tomorrow is International Walk to School Day. Solano County Supervisor Monica Brown will be on hand to help pass out prize tickets to students who are walking to school. The tickets can be redeemed in the main office at recess times. Thank you for your support of our students walking to school!

Attendance 2019-2020

We missed our September attendance mark by less than a half a percentage point. We are aiming for 97.5% over the course of the school year and we ended at 97.1%. Thank you for getting your student to school, on-time for every day they are healthy. If you need attendance assistance, please reach out to the school for assistance. You can contact the classroom teacher or the main office.

2019 Coyote Fun Run

The Fun Run is coming up on Friday, October 18th. Our Pep Rally is Wednesday, October 9th.

The run times are:

TK-K: 10:00 AM

Grades 4/5: 11:00 AM

Grades 1st-3rd: 1:20 PM

We look forward to seeing all of our students running and supporting our school. More information will come home on the day of the Pep Rally!

Illuminate Letters/Codes

Illuminate is the system we use to report grades/report cards/progress reports. Each family has a unique access code. Mrs. Fallon in the main office is working on letters for all new families and also is tracking families who have reported the need for a new code or have had issues. Thank you for your patience and expect that letter in the next couple of weeks.

Traffic Alert

Please avoid using the two courts behind the school (Deer Spring and Evening Shadow) for drop off and pick up. It is difficult to manage traffic and they are public streets so we can't prevent people from using them but are pleading with you to avoid their use. We aim to be good neighbors and to keep our back gate accessible for those that walk to the school. Neighbors report illegal parking, speeding, and trash left outside of cars. Please do your best to avoid these areas. We greatly appreciate it!
