Distance Learning Announcements and Updates, 9/25/20
A Message from Principal Ghereben
We have made it through yet another week in Distance Learning. Thank you to all the families who were able to meet with your classroom teacher this week during parent/family conferences. It is important that we continue to partner together through this time of virtual learning. Only together can we make this time as successful as it can be.
As many of you know, this week Alameda County announced that the county has moved from the purple tier to the red tier according to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. As indicated by the California Department of Public Health, counties must remain in the new tier for two weeks before they consider loosening restrictions imposed in the previous tier. The reopening of schools continues to require significant planning and preparation by all districts in Alameda County as stated in Superintendent of Schools L. Karen Monroe’s statement released this week.
Before schools are allowed to re-open, each district is responsible for developing and implementing its re-opening plan, based on State and county requirements. Schools must establish and post a comprehensive re-opening plan which must be publically available to students, staff and community.
In the Superintendent's message this week, she shared that CVUSD will follow a phased in approach and will plan thoughtfully and carefully to ensure a successful implementation of any change to the type of instruction and support students receive. Do know that the health and safety of our students and staff will always be the top priority throughout this planning process.
Thank you again for all that you are doing to support your teacher and your child's learning during this time away in distance learning.
Sincerely,
Heather Ghereben
Proctor Principal
