Koala Bears
Seth W. 8-113
The koala bear is not a bear, but a marsupial; a mammal with a pouch. Once born, the baby koala lives in its mother's pouch for up to six months until it is big enough to ride on its mother's back. The koala bear rarely walks on the ground, they have special claws to cling on to their eucalyptus trees, of which the leaves provide ample food and water for the animals. The koala sleeps all of the time, up to eighteen hours a day.
