Range View Library Line

January 2016

Clearview Library Rocks!

Have you heard about all the ways Clearview Library is supporting our school? Here are a few of the ways we are partnering with our local library to provide more opportunities for Range View students:

  • Makerspace Collaboration - Clearview IT/Tech Librarian Michael Ross is co-teaching sessions in our weekly makerspace! Michael is bringing lots of amazing tech toys from the library and sharing circuits, 3D design, and programming with students.
  • Preschool Storytime - Clearview Early Literacy Librarian Andrea Cleland is visiting our preschool classes once a month to share books and stories from the library!
  • Battle of the Books - Clearview Outreach Librarian Resa Mai is coordinating a local "Battle of the Books" competition between local elementary schools. Stay tuned for more information about this fun 4th/5th grade opportunity!
  • Overdrive eBook Access - Clearview IT Manager Bud Hunt presented at our November PD about how to use Overdrive and online eBooks with your students. Range View third graders are already diving in to all the resources with their brand new library cards!
  • Author Visit - Clearview Outreach Assistant Kat Sharp is partnering with us to help organize an author visit this spring - more details to come!
  • Windsor Newspapers - Clearview Outreach Manager Ally Garcia gave the go-ahead for Mr. Sadler to borrow boxes of archived Windsor newspapers to share in second grade. What an amazing opportunity to dive into primary sources about our local history!

The opportunities for collaboration with Clearview this year are endless! Mrs. Amundson is happy to help brainstorm ways to get your students connected with our local library and their amazing staff team!
