FLIP GRID SUMMER FUN FOR GR 4-12!
Do you have some GT learners who are avid readers? Are you always telling them to put their book away in class? We want to encourage their love of reading during their leisure time this summer! We are so excited to start our first Summer Book Club for GT learners! We have options for elementary, middle and high school aged children. We will be using Flipgrid to discuss different topics and questions each week. Every Monday a discussion topic will be posted and the students will post videos and comments about the novel they are reading. The book selections are as follows:
4th - 5th grade: The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
6th - 8th grade: War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
9th - 12th grade: Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
You can find a direct link to the grids on the Klein ISD summer resources site:

Part 6 of Byrdseed's Guide to Curiosity: Recipes for Curiosity!
So we have three general approaches to creating curiosity:
- Information Gap: Provide some context, but hide essential information.
- Ambiguity: Provide all information, but create uncertainty or multiple right answers.
- Discrepancy: Surprise your students! Violate their expectations. Break a pattern.
Please subscribe to Byrdseed! Literally TONS of great info for gifted!!!
