News from Ms. Hess
In literacy last week, we took our last iReady assessment which will be shared with you at report cards at the end of the year. This week we asked questions from headings in nonfiction to prepare us for determining the main idea.
In writing, we wrote a friendly letter to our Oxford Clear Creek Elementary 5th grade buddies. We also received a letter back from one of our buddies. Our buddies will be coming to visit us on Friday, May 28th to have lunch with us and swim.
In math, we continued constructing in order to understand volume, this time using a meter stick to create a cubic meter using rolled up newsprint. We puzzled with calculating the number of 1000 cubic centimeter cubes would fill the meter cube. Kendyl helped us to see that by measuring the length, width, and height we would be able to make a calculation.
In science, we continued our investigation of concentration and dilution.
