Morning Routines at John Hancock Charter School

Arriving at school on time is extremely important for our students because we pack in a lot of instruction in the first 10 minutes of each school day.

Teachers greet all students outside in their line at 8:25 am
Students recite positive affirmations
Students have a mini character education lesson
Students sing a patriotic song
Students participate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
The teacher goes over the day's schedule

This morning routine sets the mood for the day and it is critical all students are at school on time to participate.


Sack Lunch All 1st - 8th graders will be eating lunch on campus this year. Be sure to send a sack lunch on full school days. Send items that do not need to be refrigerated.	Snack Time All students have snack time in the morning. Send items that do not need to be microwaved and are not "messy" so they can eat them in the classroom if needed.	Microwave Students may use a microwave at lunchtime. Please only send items that require 3 minutes or less to cook. Students also have access to hot water.

Carpool Numbers

All cars that pick up students are required to have a carpool number displayed in the lower right corner of the front windshield.

The school provides you the numbers. If you are carpooling with another family, be sure both cars have the same number.

The numbers will be provided at pick up the first week of school. Please be patient with us the first week. It takes us a few days to teach the procedure to our students and for the parents to get the hang of it.

Drop off/Pick Up

Drop off: 8:15 to 8:25 am
Pick up: 1-8th grade from 3:00-3:15 pm
Pick up for kindergarten is at 12:15-12:20 pm
Remain in your car
A staff member will assist students if needed
Have students exit and enter on the passenger side
Students enter and exit only along 200 North
Follow all directions from staff - We are trying to keep everyone safe
