Happy Valentines Day!
Our busy February at LVMS continues! This week we will host our Quint Choir Concert in the North Gym (2/17) at 7:00 PM. Additionally, sign ups for both Spring Intramurals and Spring Sports continues.

Valentine's Day Door Decorating hosted by student council was a great success! All of the doors looked fantastic.

Thank you to Mrs. Smith and the National Jr. Honors Society for the great events hosted last week!
-Flowers for Friends brightened up our students' days with carnations and notes delivered to friends.
-The 7th and 8th Grade Semi-Formal Dances brought our students together to enjoy music, snacks, and a night out.
**All proceeds raised will be donated to the American Heart Foundation!**
Thank you to the LVMS PTA for hosting the Scholastic Book Fair last week. Students enjoyed visited during their ELA classes.

SPRING SPORTS UPDATE: Please see section below for important dates, forms, and information on Spring Sports!
LOST AND FOUND: The Lost & Found located in the LVMS Main Entrance vestibule is overflowing! If your child is missing clothing, lunchboxes, or other items, please have them check there. Any valuable items that may have been lost are stored in the Main Office.
ABSENCES: Please continue to report student absences using the LVMS Attendance Line. Please call our Main Office Number, (908) 876-3434, and select option 1 to report an absence.

ATHLETICS - SPRING SPORTS UPDATE
2022 Spring Season - (B/G Track, Baseball, and Softball)
- Physicals Due Date - Friday, March 18th (FINAL DUE DATE)
-All student physicals MUST be received, reviewed, and approved by the district physician.
-Incomplete forms can not be approved and will impact your child’s ability to try-out for, or participate in, our sports teams.
-Please mark your calendars - FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE!
- Tryout/Practice Start dates - Monday, April 4th (anticipated)
- End Date of Overall Season - Monday, June 6th (anticipated)

As a reminder, 6th grade students are ONLY eligible to participate
on the Spring Track & Field Teams.
Spring Intramurals
Open to all students, Spring Intramurals will offer a variety of sports / games throughout the program.
Who can participate: ALL students Grades 6 - 8
Times: 3:30 - 4:45 PM (must be able to be picked up at 4:45 PM)
Dates: March 11th - May 19th (approximately)
Permission Slips: Permission Slips (also available in the Guidance Office or outside of Mr. Inskeep's Room (Rm. 27). Permission Slips are due Fri. February 25th!
Additional Information: “Pay to Participate” Program - in order to participate, all students must complete the permission/health history form and return it along with a check in the amount of $35.00 (payable to LVMS) to either Mr. Inskeep or Mrs. Werneke.
Boys and Girls Track & Field
Sign ups for Boys and Girls Track & Field will begin on Tuesday, February 22nd.
As a reminder, physicals must be handed in by MARCH 18 to be able to participate.

Health and Safety
As per Dr. Turnamian's 2/8/22 Community Update, all Washington Township Schools will move to "mask optional" for all students and staff entering the buildings on March 7th. Until further notice the district will continue to follow the CDC's 1/12/2022 Recommendations (update anticipated in the upcoming weeks).
COVID Activity Index Level (CALI): As of 2/5/2022 the district received notification that our region’s CALI score transitioned to Moderate (YELLOW). At this time, the district is still closely adhering to the CDC's 1/12/2022 Recommendations.
Close Contact / Quarantine: Starting Tuesday, January 18th, both isolation and quarantine periods have been reduced to Five (5) full days. Day zero (0) is the first day of symptoms or if asymptomatic day zero is the day of the positive test. For close contacts, the date of exposure is considered day zero. UPDATED 1/14/22
Daily District COVID-19 Communications: Effective 2/8/22 the district will no longer send out daily communications of newly reported COVID-19 cases from each school. This information will continued to be tracked and updated daily to the Information Hub on the main page of our district website.
