November 20, 2020
From the Principal's Office:
Dear Westbrook Families,
Happy Thanksgiving. However you choose to celebrate this holiday I send best wishes.
Our plans for Parent Teacher conferences are finalized. Conferences will be scheduled beginning December 7th and may extend through January 14, 2021. The link you will use to sign up for conferences will be sent to you after Thanksgiving break and no later than Friday, December 4, 2020. Please look for reminders about conference sign up and the link to use after break.
It is the season of sharing, and I encourage you to actively support our Westbrook PTO’s virtual fundraising efforts. The flyer is included below. I am thankful for the support from our PTO which directly benefits the students at Westbrook School. Please join the virtual Tim Hannig Show on November 22nd and buy raffle tickets to win fabulous prizes.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving break. Gobble gobble,

A Note From Our Social Worker
In District 57, we take the prevention of bullying very seriously. All K-8 students participate in weekly classroom meetings/advisory meetings to build classroom community and provide strategies for students on how to prevent/handle potential bullying situations. This is done, in part, using the Olweus Bully Prevention Program. This curriculum offers an opportunity for students to share their feelings and opinions, to suggest solutions, and to learn to follow the rules and handle bullying situations appropriately. It also builds class community and cohesiveness and recognizes achievements and successes of the class as a whole.
We encourage any student or parent who is aware of a potential bullying situation to report the issue immediately to a staff member. This report will initiate an investigation. Whether or not the issue is found to be bullying, any behavior that does not follow school expectations will be addressed. We want all students to feel safe and comfortable during their time at school, and we are committed to removing barriers that are preventing this for individual students or groups of students. For more resources on this topic, please visit this link.
