Siple Spotlight
There are no spectators in education! September 23, 2019
Congratulations!
If you are already seeing red flags academically, have you requested that they come to our MTSS Student Assistance Team for review? If they are struggling with behavior have you consulted with our Success Coordinator or the Principal? If they are demonstration social or emotional difficulty have you referred them to our School Counselor? It isn't too early to engage these interventions. Always remember that early intervention is the key to success. You do not have to manage these issues alone. Draw on the support of the outstanding team we have at Siple and let's help keep our kiddos on the path to success in all areas!
Observations
Observations will begin this week. Please remember to submit your daily schedule including Guided Groups by today. Once I visit your classroom for your observation please submit your lesson plans for the week. You will recall that during my observation I am scripting what I see during the visit. I then send you my noticings and wondering. The ball is in your court then and you reply to me within 2 school days. Once I receive that reply I write my feedback from that observation and send it to you. This completes the observation. If you have any questions about observations or difficulty using PIVOT just ask me. I am happy to work you through the system. I look forward to spending time in your classrooms. Please remember to let your kiddos know that if I come in and begin typing that I am typing all the good things they are learning and won't be chatting much with them.

Dismissal
Rhonda Miller, Anne McDonald, Kelly Fritz, Kristen Clarambeau, Ernie Sipley, Robin Odglen, Kelly Pierson, Nicole Illig, Megan Novak, Julie Simonsen, and Mandy Barrett.
I recently met with some of the team to discuss how dismissal is going so far this year. From this discussion we determined some areas that needed to be tweaked. The team has observed excessive traffic in the front hallway in particular at this time and we ask for your help. MANY students are coming down to use the bathroom as parent pick-up and buses are being called. I realize the bus ride is long for our kiddos and they need to use the bathroom before leaving school. It would help if bathroom trips to the large bathrooms could be wrapped up by 3:35 p.m. This would help eliminate guessing who is lining up for parent pick-up and who is headed back to class. This may seem like no big deal, but when you are the team member managing the parent pick-up crowd it can become confusing and adds to the congestion in the hallway. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated.
Early Release Day- Wednesday, September 25th
This Wednesday is Picture Day and Early Release Day! Most of our team will be going to Central for this PD from 2-5:00 p.m. Please refer to the emails you have received for exact room numbers. A great deal of effort goes into planning these learning opportunities. I hope you find the time beneficial. If you have any questions about where you are supposed to go that day please feel welcome to come see me.
