Meet Miss Genevish!
The newsletter where you learn all about your teacher
Who I Am
Hello! My name is Laura Kate Genevish, but you can call me Miss Genevish (or Miss G!). I am so excited to meet you! I recently graduated from Christopher Newport University right here in Newport News with my Master's degree in Elementary Education, and I spent lots of time studying reading and writing while I was in college.
I have a mom, dad, a younger sister named Bethany, and a pretty tortoiseshell-colored cat named Smudge. In my free time, I like to run, watch movies, read books, go to the pool and beach, and make guacamole! I love anything with flamingos on it (pink is one of my favorite colors), and I love the book The Rainbow Fish.
We have a great year ahead of us! Keep on reading to discover more!
Fun in St. Louis
I flew out to St. Louis, Missouri, this summer to visit friends I hadn't seen in a long time. It was so neat to go up in the Gateway Arch and explore the city!
A Great Day!
Way back in the spring of 2015, I got my acceptance letter to CNU's teaching program! I was so excited because I knew becoming a teacher was exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
Time to Eat!
I love all kinds of food! Here's some paella I ordered in a Cuban restaurant - it's fun to try new things and experiment!
