Thursday Thoughts
Second Grade
Dear Second Grade Parents,
Thanks for jotting down what you know about zero for our "Zero the Hero" unit. The kids were able to share your ideas with the rest of the class. We have been playing place value games to reinforce the importance of zero.
We have officially opened our Native American Studies curriculum. Our first focus is on the people of the Eastern Woodlands. The children labeled maps of the Northeastern United States and shared what they thought they knew about the traditional housing of this region.
In book clubs, Mrs. Kaufman's book club created their own Henry and Mudge stories. Ms. Holzer's group played a baseball comprehension game for The Werewolf at Home Plate, and Mrs. King's book club wrote about their thoughts on James' aunts, as well as did a Venn Diagram on a peach and a nectarine.
Have a wonderful long weekend!
