CIS Weekly Updates
2022-2023 #12 November 7-11, 2022
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend conferences this past Thursday. We appreciate the opportunity to meet and discuss your child's progress. Our last night of conferences is on Tuesday, February 7th. However, we are always willing to meet, if needed, throughout the school year.
We have many students who are charging their lunches which has resulted in a negative balance on their accounts. Please take time to log in to PaySchools to see your child's lunch account balance. If you have any questions then please let us know.
As a reminder, it is recommended that you reach out to me regarding any planned absences. If possible, I will try to excuse the absences rather than have them be marked as unexcused. Too many unexcused absences will result in us having to start our truancy process for attendance.
Friday we will celebrate our veterans past and present. If you are a veteran, then please plan to attend our Veterans Day Celebration on Friday at 2pm. It will last about an hour. Thank you to all of our veterans for your service to our country.
Have a MARVELOUS week!
Brandon Cobb, Principal
Town Hall Meeting - NOVEMBER
FOOD DRIVE - THIS WEEK
We will focus on the food drive this week! Like the past two years, we will be collecting money only. Furthermore, we are encouraging students to bring in bills ($1, $5, $10, $20). However, we will accept change also. Our building goal will be $5,000. If we meet our goal then we will have movie parties on the last day before winter break. The TOP CLASS for 5th and 6th grade will earn an ice cream party. All of the money collected will go to Salvation Army for the purchase of food for local families.
Here are the themes for each day.
Monday: Sports/Jersey Day
Tuesday: Trading places Tuesday (teachers dress like kids, kids dress like teachers)
Wednesday: Wild West Wednesday (dress in your western gear)
Thursday: Throwback Thursday (decades day)
Friday: Patriotic Day (wear red, white and blue)

COVID-19 & ILLNESS AT CIS
ODH recommends schools follow general isolation procedures from the CDC for confirmed cases. If students or staff feel sick or suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test. If positive, students and staff should stay home from school for at least 5 days and longer if necessary until fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and symptoms are improving. Additionally, after isolation ends, students and staff should continue to take precautions as they resume normal activities by wearing a mask for 5 days (or after two negative tests 48 hours apart).
